Stress Can Create Tightness in Our Upper Back
Often times
when we are stressed and tense we will feel tightness in our necks and upper
backs. This can also in some individuals cause tingling in their
hands, often the pinkie specifically, and that side of their hand. In the
middle to lower aspects of our necks are the nerves that control our arms, the
Brachial Plexus. This network of nerves branches supplies our shoulders,
arms, hands and fingers.
Muscle Tightness Associated with Stress Often Leads to A Misaligned Vertebrae
With all the
muscle tightness we associated with stress there is often vertebrae that become misaligned, and with all of this dysfunction increased pressure can be put on
the Bronchial Plexus, specifically the Ulnar Nerve, and the one on the bottom of
the plexus. Pressure here results in that tingling sensation in our
pinkies and sometimes the ring finger as well.
Chiropractic Care Can Help to Relieve Muscle Stress
Chiropractic
can help relieve these complaints. We located the misalignment in the
spine, and by adjusting/manipulating them, Chiropractors can help take the
pressure off of these nerves and restore normal function.

After reading this article, I can really say that I’ve gone through a lot of stressful times in my life. I usually feel tightness in my neck and in my back, and yeah, even in my fingers. I’ve been trying a lot of massage therapies to relieve the stress, and so far, I’m getting good results. I think I can also try chiropractic treatment since I want to have a healthier lifestyle. But I don’t want this just for me, but also for my kids and my husband, who always worries for me whenever I feel a lot of pain in my body.
